National Trust - New look food packaging

A successful partnership continued...

Artful Inkling's client National Trust earlier this year set the challenge of designing an iconic own-brand range of packaging for the extended food lines launching in Autumn 2014. National Trust were increasing the in-store offering, and providing the foodie consumer with a choice of delicious products especially created for them by small suppliers and artisan bakeries

"Dropping the text from the logo and concentrating on the distinctive oak leaf brand mark was a big step forward, allowing us to create a fresh, modern and iconic range of food packaging for the National Trust." Liz Neale

Liz provided many interesting initial concepts for our new food range, and worked very quickly to turn around designs. The final range has just hit stores and has had a great reaction. The clever use of a single oak leaf on the biscuits packaging was inspired! I am looking forward to working with Liz again soon on future projects.

Inspiration from found packaging

I'm always on the hunt for inspiring pieces of packaging. At a sale recently I picked up this highly decorative box. It's a card game called 'Bezique' I really must learn how to play.

'Forbidden Fig'
by Liz Neale

I've always been curious about fig plants, they have interesting stories attached to them. Their beautiful sculptural foliage and amazingly sweet fruit make them a perfect muse. I have seen them recently in interior magazines and thought I'd paint my own version.
